1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and Mirage Studios UAE, owned and operated by Mohammed Jawad Anbari, with principal operations in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates and a Limited Liability Company incorporated in the United States ("Mirage Studios", "we", "us", "our").
By accessing our website, creating an account, downloading our games (including Veil of the Twisted Sands), or otherwise using any of our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use our services. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. Users under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian consent.
3. Licence to Use Our Services
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Mirage Studios grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use our website and games for your personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes only. This licence does not include the right to:
Sublicense, sell, resell, transfer, or assign any rights to our services;
Modify, adapt, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of our games or software;
Use our services to develop competing products or services;
Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks.
4. User Accounts
To access certain features, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:
Provide accurate and complete registration information;
Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with others;
Notify us immediately at admin@miragestudios.ae of any suspected unauthorised access;
Accept responsibility for all activity occurring under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably suspect are involved in fraudulent or abusive activity.
5. Intellectual Property
5.1 Mirage Studios Content
All content on our website and within our games, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, game assets, character designs, music, sound effects, and software ("Content"), is the property of Mirage Studios UAE or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
5.2 Third-Party Licensed Material
Our game Veil of the Twisted Sands may include material taken from the System Reference Document 5.1 ("SRD 5.1") by Wizards of the Coast LLC, which is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License. Reference to any other copyrighted material does not constitute a challenge to the respective copyright holders of that material.
5.3 User Content
If you submit any content to us (e.g., forum posts, game-created content, feedback), you grant Mirage Studios a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute that content in connection with our services. You represent that you own or have the right to share such content.
5.4 Trade Marks
"Mirage Studios", "Veil of the Twisted Sands", and our logos are trade marks of Mirage Studios UAE. You may not use them without our prior written consent.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation;
Harass, threaten, defame, or harm other users;
Cheat, exploit bugs, or use unauthorised third-party software to gain an unfair advantage;
Engage in unauthorised data mining, scraping, or collection of information from our services;
Introduce viruses, malware, or other harmful code;
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account;
Use our services for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent;
Impersonate Mirage Studios, its staff, or any other person or entity.
7. In-Game Purchases & Virtual Items
Our games may offer optional in-game purchases of virtual items or currency. All purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by applicable law. Virtual items have no real-world monetary value and may not be transferred, sold, or exchanged outside of the game. We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or remove virtual items at any time.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MIRAGE STUDIOS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MIRAGE STUDIOS AND ITS OWNER, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS PAID BY YOU TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Mirage Studios and its owner, affiliates, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of our services, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to our services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason at our discretion.
Upon termination, your licence to use our services will immediately cease. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will remain in effect.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the UAE, with due regard to the laws of the United States as applicable to the LLC entity. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall first be subject to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be referred to the competent courts of Abu Dhabi, UAE, unless otherwise required by applicable mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
13. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via our website or by email with reasonable notice. Your continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Notice, constitute the entire agreement between you and Mirage Studios regarding your use of our services and supersede any prior agreements.
