Monsters

The creatures that stalk the world of Al’Aradi Al-Qatima are drawn from the darkest corners of Arabian mythology and the incomprehensible depths of cosmic terror.

from the shadow-splitting NasNas and the soul-bound Qarin to the malevolent whispers of the Shayateen and horrors so vast they defy mortal comprehension. These are not mere monsters to be slain — they are ancient, unknowable forces that predate civilisation itself, each encounter a brush with something that should never have been disturbed. Face them with steel, with faith, and with whatever sanity you have left.

Battle Creatures from Your Darkest Nightmares

NasNas

A futuristic illustration of a person wearing high-tech, reflective clothing, with a partially robotic face, and extending an arm with clawed fingers in a commanding gesture, set against a dynamic black-and-white background.

Something moves in the shadow between shadows — not quite human, never quite whole, split down the centre as though creation itself rejected it. The NasNas does not hunt you out of hunger. It hunts you because your completeness offends it.

Silat

A sculpture of a woman with long dark hair, wearing a purple headscarf decorated with coins and jewelry, sitting with her legs spread on a dark surface. She is smiling with open mouth, showing teeth, and has her left arm extended forward.

She will appear to you first as something beloved — a face you trust, a voice that soothes, a presence that feels like home. The Silat is a shapeshifter of terrifying intelligence, and by the time you suspect her, she will already know everything about you.

Shayateen

An illustration of a dark creature with a skeleton skull adorned with curved horns, bat-like wings, and claws, surrounded by smaller similar creatures against a dark background with light rays.

They are everywhere and nowhere — whispering at the edges of your thoughts, nudging your worst impulses toward catastrophe. These are not mere imps. They are architects of ruin, and your doubt is their doorway.

Wiswas

A black and white cat with striking eyes crouching behind patterned stairs, blending into the dark background.

This is no creature to be bargained with, no devil to be outwitted with clever words and bravado. The Shaitan has broken stronger souls than yours, and it will offer you everything you desire — right up until the moment it collects.

Marid

A dramatic stormy scene with a giant tribal warrior figure wearing a headdress and jewelry, with arms crossed, surrounded by lightning and dark clouds. A small figure stands in the foreground with arms outstretched, looking up at the giant.

From the deepest, blackest trenches of the ancient sea it rises — colossal, imperious, and utterly indifferent to your existence. The Marid does not see you as an enemy. It barely sees you at all.

Ifrit

An illustration of a demon with horns and flames on its head, arms, and shoulders, standing with arms raised in front of a large fire. A person kneels on a rug in the foreground, reaching towards the fire.

Born of smokeless fire and ancient fury, the Ifrit does not simply burn — it consumes, it dominates, it subjugates. Cross one, and you will spend the rest of your very short life wishing you had chosen a different path entirely.

Ghoul

A detailed black and white sculpture of a humanoid creature with animal-like features, such as pointed ears and sharp teeth, standing on one leg and holding a wire or string, with a person in a hooded jacket sitting on the ground in front of it, in a dark environment.

The graveyards here do not rest easy — and neither do those buried within them. The Ghoul that stalks these ruins was once something that breathed and loved and feared, and what remains is a hunger so complete it has consumed every last trace of what it used to be.

Mi-go

A dark underground cave with stalactites hanging from the ceiling, and a large creature resembling a crustacean or insect with long legs, antennae, and sharp spines, illuminated by a faint light.

They arrived not from the desert, not from the sea, but from somewhere your mind is not equipped to comprehend. The Mi-Go do not want your gold, your cities, or your faith — they want what is inside your skull, and they have the means to take it.

Hinn

Illustration of heroic characters standing amidst smoke and flames, with some mounted on horses, set against a fiery background.

Older than the UNSEEN, wilder than the desert wind, the Hinn existed before humanity had words for what it feared. It does not follow the rules that bind its kin — and it is not interested in yours.
